Match Report

Middelfart vs. Lyngby (3-0, 25-19 25-16 25-21)

Quick summary:
We pulled this one out with a solid team effort. Bo got his first start of the season at libero and played a solid match throughout. Everyone who touched the floor made a contribution. Last nights match was a definite improvement from our last matchup against DHG.
We found out when we showed up to the gym that there was a concert going on in our main gym so our match was going to be played in our smaller hal B. The start time of the match had to be delayed 10 mins because Lyngby showed up late because of traffic or something. I am wondering if there are rules about teams showing up late and what the protocal is actually supposed to be, because our refs seemed to be making it up as it happened. Anyways when the match finally started we came out a little flat for reasons unknown and the first set was close for the first 10 points. Then as we settled in a little bit and started playing our game we took over the set with some big plays and some key serving by our setter Martin. The second set, as the score showed, was our most consistent. We never really gave them a chance to come back. In the third set we hit a bit of a slump. Errors started adding up and our serving took a turn for the worse. We showed some character to stick it out and still pull out the victory, but it seemed a little as though we were just doing enough to win. This type of strategy will not work when we play top teams. We need to get a lot more consistant to compete for the top spot in this league.

peace out

I am new to this blogging stuff so I am still figuring out exactly how this site works and what i'm going to do with it. Check back soon for more sweet pics and random thoughts!
