Quick game summary

I have heard that Gentofte has been writing on their website quite a bit about how they haven't lost at home in a year or something. The streak is over!
Halfway through the first set I thought we were going to lose another 3-0 match. We were playing about as well as we did against Aalborg. We served, passed, and hit terribly which resulted in an easy first set victory for Gentofte.
About halfway through the second set 'double agent' decided to single handedly shut down Santos who was pretty much Gentofte's whole offence. A few massive blocks and a couple sick digs injected us with enough life to take the set and we just kept rolling from there.
It is promising to see a little fight in our play.

Now we have a quick turnaround to play Aarhus on tuesday night at home. They are scraping to make the top four while we are fighting for homecourt advantage in the playoffs. I predict a 3-0 win for the good guys.

Friday thoughts

Another big game this weekend. Somehow last time we met Gentofte we beat them easily without even playing very well on our side. I am 100% positive it will be a tougher match this time around. We have had a sort of up and down week of practice so it should be interesting to see how we play. I am 100% sure that I personally will have a better match this time around, only because it is physically impossible to play worse than I did last time. I am excited to play at Gentofte's gym also. I've heard that they get a few more fans than the average team in the league. Its weird but I almost prefer to play on the road this year.
Anyways I'm going to go with my usual 3-1 prediction in our favor.

On another note, anyone want to make a road trip to vegas this summer?? I'm thinking that there has to be some cheap flights some time, maybe in May?? I'm going to look into it, anyone interested??

Volleyball is a frustrating sport. One week we are on the top of our game and the next we are back to square one. No real high points in this match, we didn't do much of anything well. We played about as well as the canadian mens hockey team played tonight against the swiss (they lost 2-0). They blocked and played defense pretty well, and that is all it took. Not that it really affected the outcome but 'dumb and dommer' were fucking horrendous tonight. How hard would it be to get some linespeople??? Actually it wasn't even the line calls that were brutal tonight it was the fucking fantom out of rotation calls, the over the net call on setters, and the lack of ball handling calls that pissed me off the most. Its hard to turn momentum in your favor in a match when you finally earn a point only to have it taken away by some arrogant dommer trying to make his mark on the match. Thats my venting for now.

Post match I was trying to think of who I would want to matchup against the in the semi's at the end of the season and I couldn't come up with an answer. With the way this season has gone so far it seems to be a crap shoot as to what teams will come to play on any given game day. We have seen all of the top four teams play excellent matches one weekend and then brutal matches the next. No team has yet to establish a steady high level of play. I thought we might be building towards that but we seem to take two steps backwards evertime we move forward. There are still five long weeks of league play left and I have no idea how they will turn out. Plenty of time for improvement, should be interesting.

Stupid Fucking punks

I had my wallet and mini disc player stolen from our team room yesterday during practice. Fucking BRUTAL! Some little fuckin hood rat must have peeked into our team room and decided to snatch my shit. I think we should bring into effect harsher punishment for theft of this nature...something like chopping off their hands. Although its not like I will ever find out who took my shit. Its not even the money in my wallet that i'm really pissed about, its all my cards and ID that i have to replace now. So fucking annoying!!! Why couldn't they just take the money inside it and ditch the wallet?? Now everytime I see a punk kid walking around the streets of Middelfart I wonder if he is the spineless pussy that lifted my stuff.
Soo much built up anger!!!! AHHHHHHHH!

"Updawg" came up in conversation tonight while we were enjoying our weekly tuesday night pasta salad after practice. Team Aarhus was clueless! I told Funch that he had some 'updawg' on his shirt, but he wasn't having any of it. None of them were biting on the joke at all. I guess this lame joke hasn't made its way over to Europe. I don't want to give the joke away, but can anyone help these guys out??

Big matchup tomorrow. Top two teams in the league right now.
Marienlyst has yet to lose a set in the second half so they must be doing something right. I have not seen them play lately so I don't really know. I'm not sure if they have been challenged by any of their opponents yet.
We are coming off a really good week of practice so i'm hoping our level will carry over into tomorrow's match. I think that if we bring our 'A' game we will win handily. Anything else and we could be in trouble.
No matter what i'm expecting a battle tomorrow.

Well it wasn't pretty. We played well for the most part except for the major dropoff in the set we lost. I have to give them credit for that set though, they dug more balls than us and swung hard on everset no matter where it was. Not much else to say about this match, the capacity crowd of 5 people didn't exactly make for an exciting atmosphere. The thing that sticks out the most about this match for me was the fact that we had to use molten balls. What the hell is the deal with that?? I thought that was rediculous. The league needs to use the same ball everywhere. I thought that was a pretty basic rule. Maybe i'm way off here, but that doesn't sound right to me.

On another note, did anyone else stay up for the superbowl?? Its just not the same with danish commentary! Play of the game was definitly #95 on seattle pulling a hammy trying to sprint the length of the field.
